This is an authentic World War II era Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) War Flag, known as the Kyokujitsu-ki or "Rising Sun Flag." This specific example is a rare, official military-issue artifact, confirmed by the presence of the vertical "Army Ministry Approved/Inspected" stamp (陸軍省検定) on the reinforced hoist edge. Made from durable, period-correct cotton bunting, the flag features heavy-duty stitching and original rope ties, reflecting its intended use as rugged military equipment.
