Offered here is a genuine vintage Civil Air Patrol (CAP) shoulder patch dating from the World War II era. This insignia is historically significant as it represents the period when the CAP was formally established as a civilian auxiliary of the United States Army Air Forces. This patch would have been proudly worn on the uniform sleeve of CAP personnel who performed vital civilian defense duties during the war. The design centers on the official CAP emblem: a bold red three-bladed propeller within a white triangle, set against a round blue field with "U S" embroidered at the bottom.
  • Service Branch: Civil Air Patrol (CAP)
  • Insignia Design: Red propeller within white triangle on blue field.
  • Era and Construction: WWII period (circa 1940s). "Cut-edge" manufacturing style on twill material backing, authenticating it as an original period item.
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor fraying and discoloration expected from a used patch of this age.

Testimonials

The craftsmanship on this piece is extraordinary. The effigy carving and brass tacks tell a story you can feel in your hands. A centerpiece of my Great Lakes collection.

Authentic history preserved perfectly. The condition exceeded expectations, and the provenance documentation gave me complete confidence. Worth every penny.

WWII History Enthusiast

Owning a piece of ordnance history like this is surreal. The casting detail is remarkable, and it's become the conversation starter in my Civil War display.

Civil War Collector

Finding an excavated Revolutionary War relic this intact is nearly impossible. The script is crisp, and knowing it was worn by a Continental soldier gives me chills.

Revolutionary War Historian

The Sheffield maker's mark and beaver tail handle make this an museum-quality piece. Exactly the kind of authentic trade-era artifact I've been searching for.
